Why haven’t we heard about reversing diabetes before?

Why am I sick? How did I get here? Why are there no clear answers? There are many reasons we are sick as a society and have the health care system we have today. While there are people working to make positive changes, there are others taking the “right now” easiest route.

While people have been inspired by my mother’s story of overcoming fibromyalgia, she could just have easily been another statistic. If she had taken the “right now” medication approach and listened to mainstream media and physician advice, she would most likely be in a wheelchair. Instead, she focused on true solutions with lifestyle changes that set the stage for my pursuit of a career dedicated to helping people regain their health naturally.

So how did we get so sick as a society? Why are insurance premiums through the roof?

Money and a desire for a quick fix. There is this pervasive idea that we are under medicated and have too many body parts. What does this do for you and the public? Sadly, this mindset of more drugs and surgery creates a system where traditional medicine has turned emergency care into standard of routine care. Pharmaceutical lobbyists put pressure on insurance companies to offer medications and dictate patient/doctor care. Further, pharmaceutical companies often offer continuing education classes, sometimes free, to physicians so they can educate them on their specific drugs.

If we could reverse diabetes, wouldn’t someone have told us by now!?

I have heard that from several patients in the past as they were learning about natural solutions for reversing chronic disease.  Are there more advertisements for broccoli or pharmaceuticals? While the answer is obviously pharmaceuticals, it is important to recognize and understand the bigger picture. The way our current society is set up we have adopted a mantra that, “There is more money in the treatment of a disease than a cure.” Because most people would rather take a pill for their ailments than change habits, we perpetuate the idea we can keep on living an unhealthy lifestyle and cover up symptoms with medications. Unfortunately, this perpetuates the real problem and causes more emphasis to be placed on expanding medication use as opposed to real lifestyle education personal accountability.

Reversing Diabetes is possible!

To make a change you need three things:

1. Motivation- A desire to change. This could be pain, low energy, being overweight, etc.

2. Means- Ability to make changes. This includes ability to get healthy food, money to buy food, car, bus or bike to go to the store, etc

3. Knowledge- You have to know what to do in order to see results.

Missing any one of these three items will prevent you from making any change. So, how do you avoid becoming another statistic? I suggest the following: Get a piece of paper and write down your “Motivation” and your goals. Why do you want to get healthier? Next, write down your game plan for getting healthy products including food, supplements, etc. For example, “I plan on going shopping every Thursday after work so I can relax on Friday and make healthy food on Saturday and prep food for the following week. Lastly, become educated on what the proper foods are, check out the resources on this page and natural health sites that help to lower inflammation so you can reverse your diabetes day by day.
