Learning Doesn’t Have To Be Hard – Here’s How To Make It Easy.
I’m passionate about learning, and find that I enjoy helping others discover how learning can be easy. The more information becomes digitized, the lower attendance is at local libraries. A lot of people think that learning is painful or hard, but it doesn’t have to be. Ask yourself what you want to learn or get better at. Then ask what medium you like to learn in. From videos, to books, to podcasts, there is an option for you to enjoy. A lot of people will pick up a book but only about 5% will actually finish a book that is over 100 pages. We tend to be strapped for time, which means we have to find an easy way to learn.
Personally, I enjoy listening to podcast while I work out. This is easy for me because my workouts are part of my morning routine. Some of the podcast I listen to include Tim Ferris, Tony Robbins, Joe Polish, and Dan Sullivan. As the saying goes, “if you win the morning, you win the day.” Listening to informative and inspirational podcasts during my morning run sets the tone for my day. I’m not a huge fan of sitting down to read a book because I don’t always set aside time for reading. I do make time for workouts, so it’s easy to combine a run with listening and learning. Of course I can’t take notes while I run, but the information I need sticks, and occasionally I listen to the same podcast over again. How can you make learning easy rather than finding reasons you don’t have time or can’t?
Find what you like or a skill you want to grow in, and then find a medium that will help you learn. Choose a webinar, seminar, video, or podcast because “school is never out for the pro”. It’s typical for people to finish high school or college and stop learning. We are living longer and have many opportunities, so keep learning. Embrace those opportunities and be a force for positive change in your life. We don’t stay still in life. We either grow or decline. Find out what excites you and keep learning to keep growing.
Here’s to making the rest of your years the best of your years.
